Football Game Preview: Middleton Vikings vs. Capital Golden Eagles + How To Watch

The Middleton Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Capital Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Middleton's defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so Capital's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Middleton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Rocky Mountain, who was ranked first at the time (Middleton was ranked 15th). The Vikings were outmatched by the Grizzlies and fell 30-3. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Capital posted their closest victory since October 18, 2024 on Friday. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Meridian 43-42. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Middleton better keep an eye on Brayden Dudley. He was instrumental in Capital's win, throwing for 143 yards and one touchdown.

Capital now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Middleton, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.

Middleton and Capital were almost perfectly matched up when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but Middleton suffered an agonizing 35-34 loss. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
