Basketball Recap: York Institute Takes a Loss

York Institute was the 50-38 winner over Smith County when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The York Institute Dragons took a 63-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Smith County Owls on Thursday.

York Institute's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Smith County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-16 record this season.

Looking ahead, York Institute will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Coffee County Central at 1:00 p.m. Smith County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
