Basketball Recap: Culver Community Starts off Right with Win over South Central

Culver Community took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They snuck past the South Central Satellites with a 38-34 victory. For the Cavaliers, this counts as revenge for the 36-29 win the Satellites walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

South Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Makenna Welsh, who posted five points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals. Samantha Marks was another key player, putting up six points along with nine boards and three steals.

Looking ahead, Culver Community will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tri-Township at 6:00 p.m. As for South Central, they will venture away from home to face off against Winamac at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
