Basketball Recap: First Baptist Christian Comes Up Short

After soaring to 58 points the game before, First Baptist Christian was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a blow against the St. Francis Episcopal Wolves, falling 79-27. The Warriors have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Francis Episcopal to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Hodge, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most boards Hodge has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Syon, Ll, who went 5 for 10 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds.

First Baptist Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for St. Francis Episcopal, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Baptist Christian will challenge Rosehill Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. First Baptist Christian is facing Rosehill Christian at the right time seeing as Rosehill Christian is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for St. Francis Episcopal, they will take on Northland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Northland Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 matches.
