Bessemer City skates past Highland Tech with ease

The Bessemer City Yellow Jackets waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They breezed by Highland Tech at home to the tune of 56-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Bessemer City has posted against Highland Tech since January 28, 2020.

Bessemer City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kionna Pettus out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Pettus has scored at least a third of Bessemer City's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tionna Pettus, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds.

Bessemer City's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.67 points. As for Highland Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
