Recap: Northwest Raiders vs. Cecilia Bulldogs
The Northwest Raiders and the Cecilia Bulldogs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Northwest Raiders had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a rough 55-18 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. Northwest's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Northwest still got an impressive performance from Ja'Vain Reese, who rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Reese's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.
It was another big night for Corey Broussard, who rushed for 202 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries for Cecilia. Diesel Solari was another key contributor, rushing for 82 yards and three touchdowns.
Northwest's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4. As for Cecilia, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Northwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cecilia will square off against Opelousas at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Opelousas' defense has only allowed 13.5 points per game this season, so Cecilia's offense will have their work cut out for Cecilia.
