Baseball Recap: San Jacinto Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when San Jacinto and West Valley meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. San Jacinto fell 7-4 to West Valley. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

San Jacinto saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Rodriguez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. San Jacinto is 2-1 when Rodriguez posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Another was Marco Morales, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.

San Jacinto has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. The victory got West Valley back to even at 5-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Valley beat San Jacinto by a score of 8-0 on Friday.
