Basketball Game Preview: Gadsden Panthers vs. Centennial Hawks

Gadsden hasn't had much luck against Centennial recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Gadsden Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Centennial Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Gadsden is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They were beaten by Las Cruces 53-16. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Bulldawgs are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Centennial unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 33-32 to Mayfield.

Centennial's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-11. As for Gadsden, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Gadsden skirted past Centennial 35-32 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Does Gadsden have another victory up their sleeve, or will Centennial turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
