NCISAA Carolina Piedmont recap Oct. 9, 2012
Christ School extended the longest winning streak in NCISAA Carolina Piedmont this week by beating SouthLake Christian Academy, 24-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Christ School made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,377 from 5,850. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 24-14 victory over SouthLake Christian Academy last week.
Randy Schroeder put up the best numbers through the air as Geoff O'Donnell's team lost to Mark Moroz's team. He finished with 15 completions for 219 yards and two touchdowns. Schroeder's favorite target this week was Caleb Hines, who caught four passes for 101 yards.
Ini Ndoh was the best wideout in the league this week as Hickory Grove Christian fell to Cannon. Ndoh tallied five receptions for 157 yards. Keyshawn Allen helped Hickory Grove Christian's passing attack out by catching four balls for 49 yards.
Sam Murphy made the biggest impact on defense this week as SouthLake Christian Academy lost to the Greenies. The 5-foot-10 sophomore recorded one fumble and racked up 1.0 sack.
Charles Beale was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 124 yards on 31 carries as Christ School fell to the Cougars. Christian Jewkes also contributed to the rushing game with 29 yards on the ground.
SouthLake Christian Academy's Schroeder and Hines have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading NCISAA Carolina Piedmont in both passing and receiving yards. Schroeder has thrown for 2221 yards this season, while Hines, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 28 catches for 719 yards. Devante Jackson from Westminster Catawba Christian leads the league in rushing with 718 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Christ School takes on second place SouthLake Christian Academy. The Greenies beat SouthLake Christian Academy last week, while SouthLake Christian Academy lost to the Greenies.
High Point Christian Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 53 points on the Indians.
