Basketball Game Preview: Colonie Central Wolfpack vs. Shenendehowa Plainsmen

The Colonie Central Wolfpack will square off against the Shenendehowa Plainsmen at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Colonie Central will be strutting in after a victory while Shenendehowa will be coming in after a defeat.

Colonie Central took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 64-40 margin over Middletown. Given the Wolfpack's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th in New York, while the Middie Bears are ranked 606th in New York), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Shenendehowa unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak two weeks ago. They took a 60-44 bruising from Christian Brothers Academy. The contest marked the Plainsmen's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Colonie Central is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points over those games. Shenendehowa's loss dropped their record down to 18-2.

Colonie Central suffered a grim 55-35 defeat to Shenendehowa in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Colonie Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
