Basketball Game Preview: Salesian Mustangs vs. Bishop Amat Lancers

Salesian hasn't had much luck against Bishop Amat recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Salesian Mustangs will take on the Bishop Amat Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Salesian will be strutting in after a win while Bishop Amat will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Salesian needed a bit of extra time to put away Pioneer. They managed a 62-58 victory over the Titans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Bishop Amat entered their matchup against Great Oak on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Bishop Amat fell 64-54 to Great Oak. The Lancers were down 53-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Salesian's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Bishop Amat, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-4.

Salesian might still be hurting after the 66-44 defeat they got from Bishop Amat in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Salesian was down 37-12.
