Baseball Recap: Westside's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After flying high against Wren on Wednesday, Westside came back down to earth. The Rams fell just short of the Hurricanes by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hurricanes earlier this season, when they won 6-0.

Jackson Holmes was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Phoenix Herndon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Westside moved to 10-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Wren, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-6.

Westside didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-0 victory against Southside on the 14th. As for Wren, they have also already played their next matchup, a 15-1 win against Powdersville on the 14th.
