Softball Recap: Zion Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Christian Community

Zion Christian Academy got themselves on the board against Christian Community on Tuesday, but Christian Community never followed suit. They blew past the Colts 15-0. Considering the Eagles have won five matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Marleigh McWilliams made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. McWilliams was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Willa Hughes was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Bella Waller was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Zion Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Zion Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Christian Community fell to 2-1.
