Baseball Recap: Hilliard Davidson's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Hilliard Davidson hadn't beaten Upper Arlington on the road since May 11, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Wildcats walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Golden Bears. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Golden Bears on Monday, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Connor McHenry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. Hilliard Davidson is 2-1 when McHenry allows two or fewer earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Josh DiBlasio was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one double. Another player making a difference was Will Ragland, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Hilliard Davidson moved to 7-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Upper Arlington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
