Baseball Recap: Powell Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Powell's offense. They came up short against the Northview Academy Cougars on Wednesday, falling 7-0.

Powell has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-20 record this season. As for Northview Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.

Looking ahead, Powell will challenge Seymour at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Northview Academy, they will square off against Coalfield at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellow Jackets have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season.
