River Islands is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Venture Academy just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, River Islands can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 945th, while Venture Academy are ranked 198th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Delta Charter was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They came up short against Millennium, falling 8-1. Delta Charter have struggled against Millennium recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

River Islands' defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-2. As for Delta Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10-1.

River Islands was able to grind out a solid win over Delta Charter in their previous meeting back in January, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Riptide since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
