League recap: Willcox's Diaz delivers best pitching performance from past week

III Section II's top pitcher this week was Willcox's Daniel Diaz. Over the past week, he had one win and 12 Ks.

Diaz was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .583 average with six RBIs. The Cowboys went 3-1.

Morenci still leads the league with just four base hits given up over the entire season, but Empire gave up the fewest hits in the league over the past week (three).

The league boasted six .400 hitters over the past week. They were led by Liam Rosebeck, who hit 1.000 this week (3-for-3).

Diaz's six RBIs this week were tops in the league. Diaz has ten RBIs this season, first in the league.



The Cowboys' Diaz struck out 12 Round Valley hitters en route to an 11-0 victory on March 1. Over his five innings pitched he allowed zero runs on zero hits.

Liam Rosebeck was an RBI machine on Thursday, as he knocked in four runs during the Ravens' 26-0 win over St. Augustine Catholic. He went 3-for-3 and scored two runs.
