Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Commanders vs. DSST: Cedar Falcons

The Kennedy Commanders will square off against the DSST: Cedar Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Xavier Benavidez was nothing short of spectacular: he went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Trujillo, who posted five points in addition to seven assists and six boards.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for DSST: Cedar on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew DMLK out of the water with a 67-38 final score. With the Falcons ahead 33-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

The victory made it two in a row for DSST: Cedar and bumps their season record up to 7-9. As for Kennedy, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 2-13.
