Volleyball Recap: Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] Comes Up Short

After flying high against Neligh-Oakdale last Thursday, Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] came back down to earth. The Bobcats came up short against the Wayne Blue Devils on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20, 25-16.

Despite the loss, Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] still got an impressive performance from Kaylee Thiele, who had 21 digs and two assists. Thiele is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Wayne was led to victory by Addison Frank and Jacen Hasemann. Frank had 21 digs and two aces, while Hasemann had 18 digs. Those 18 digs gave Hasemann a new career-high.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Wayne, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-10.

Coming up, Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] will venture away from home to take on Ainsworth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wayne, they will host Battle Creek on Thursday.
