Baseball Recap: Shadyside Find Success

It was a proper cat-fight when Shadyside challenged Buckeye Local on Monday. The Tigers came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 5-2. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Wyatt Parr made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Luke Crozier tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Shadyside is 6-1 when Crozier allows two or fewer earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Anthony Forgacs, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Shadyside's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Buckeye Local, their record now sits at 8-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shadyside will welcome Union Local at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Jets at the right time seeing as the Jets are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Buckeye Local, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Clairsville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
