Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is First Baptist Academy's 14th in Last 15 Outings

With a playoff win on the line, First Baptist Academy rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-47 victory over the Carrollwood Day Patriots. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Patriots are ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

First Baptist Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Petit out in front who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Andrew Azunque, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

First Baptist Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 26-2 record this season. As for Carrollwood Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-13.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions challenge the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. First Baptist Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 195 points over their last three games. Carrollwood Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
