Basketball Recap: Valor Preparatory Academy Takes a Loss

The Valor Preparatory Academy Knights were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 52-47 to the First Baptist Saints. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

First Baptist's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vittoria Steele, who went 7-for-17 en route to 19 points and six blocks. Those six blocks gave Steele a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylie Jane Jones, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds.

Valor Preparatory Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for First Baptist, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Valor Preparatory Academy will be taking part in a tournament against West at 11:20 a.m. on Thursday. As for First Baptist, they will take on Coram Deo Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
