Basketball Recap: Heartland Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Faith Arnzen and Savannah Vazquez

Heartland was the 36-19 winner over Center Place when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs took a 27-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles on Thursday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Heartland had strong showings from Savannah Vazquez, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds, and Faith Arnzen, who posted three points. Vazquez has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last three times she's played.

Heartland's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Center Place, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heartland won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Northland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Center Place, they will square off against El Dorado Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
