Volleyball Recap: Benet Academy Victorious

The Benet Academy Redwings earned a 2-0 victory over the Hinsdale South Hornets on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redwings.

Benet Academy never let Hinsdale South on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-18.

Matthew Swiatkowski paced Benet Academy's offense, picking up eight kills. Swiatkowski got some help from Reed Hefley and his 12 assists. Hefley also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Aris Maurukas, racking up two apiece.

Benet Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hinsdale South, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Benet Academy and Hinsdale South will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time Benet Academy sees the court they'll take on Downers Grove North at 5:30 p.m. on April 9. As for Hinsdale South, their break will end when they face Downers Grove South at 5:30 p.m. on April 8.
