Basketball Recap: South Granville Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

South Granville had won four straight home games and Mason Brown did his part to make it five on Tuesday. The South Granville Vikings claimed a resounding 75-32 win over the Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs thanks in part to Brown, who went 12 of 15 en route to 26 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played.

KJ Terry was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine assists. He also grabbed five steals, which is notable because South Granville is 14-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 2-3 otherwise.

Durham School of the Arts' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Shawne Dowdy, who went 8 for 13 to rack up 18 points and six boards, and Ashton Patterson, who posted four points. What's more, Dowdy also posted a 62% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024.

South Granville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points over those games. As for Durham School of the Arts, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-17.

South Granville has already played their next game, an 83-68 loss against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability on the 7th. As for Durham School of the Arts, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-31 defeat against Louisburg on the 5th.
