Leadership Academy comes up short despite Will Martin's dominant performance

Recap: Leadership Academy Falcons vs. Rockingham County Cougars

The Leadership Academy Falcons pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-56 to Rockingham County. Leadership Academy just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.

Despite the loss, Leadership Academy still got an impressive performance from Will Martin, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Martin posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Caden Ryker, who scored 13 points along with two steals.

It was another big night for Dalton Johnson, who scored 28 points along with seven assists and six rebounds for Rockingham County. That makes it five consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Rockingham County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Strittmatter, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.

Leadership Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Rockingham County, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Leadership Academy and Winston-Salem Prep will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Winston-Salem Prep is ranked 558th, while Leadership Academy is ranked 561st). As for Rockingham County, they will head out on the road to square off against Northeast Guilford at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
