Softball Recap: Evanston Takes a Loss

Evanston made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Resurrection, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildkits fell just short of the Bandits by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildkits in their meetings with the Bandits: they've now lost three in a row.

Maya Nelson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Evanston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rosie Witt, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Evanston's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Resurrection, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season.

Evanston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Resurrection, they will take on Ridgewood at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bandits' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
