League recap: Heritage tops Woodside to extend winning streak

4A Conference 18 recap October 8, 2013

Heritage added to the longest winning streak in 4A Conference 18 this week by beating Woodside, 28-24. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Hurricanes.

Heritage and the Wolverines played the closest game in the league this week, with Heritage eventually emerging with a 28-24 victory. Jeremiah Boyd threw for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 17 yards during the win.

Heritage's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hurricanes feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Malik Deloatch has thrown for 477 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while Marcus Hook has 12 catches for 298 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Lakeland takes on King's Fork. As it stands, the Cavaliers are in sixth, while the Bulldogs are in third.

Phoebus took down Menchville 51-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
