First Colonial is 9-1 against Landstown since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Patriots will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. First Colonial is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
First Colonial's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Bayside 9-0.
The result came thanks to Cori Evans's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lucy Domozick was a standout: she scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aimee Ord, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Domozick wasn't the only one making solid contact: First Colonial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The Patriots are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Landstown was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell just short of Great Bridge by a score of 3-2. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Landstown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leia Parker, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Natalie Mcfaul also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
First Colonial pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Landstown, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Landstown's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: First Colonial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. It's a different story for Landstown, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain First Colonial's hitters?
First Colonial took their win against Landstown in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
