McClave came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to the Hoehne Farmers for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-38 win. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 28 points or more this season.

McClave found their leader in sophomore Tuff Kelley, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Kelley. Another player making a difference was Jr. Mungaray, who went 5 of 6 en route to 11 points.

McClave smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

Hoehne lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Diego Lujan, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Magninat, who had five points.

McClave's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Hoehne, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the McClave Cardinals take on the Boise City Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McClave is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.6 points per game this season. As for Hoehne, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Walsenburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
