Basketball Game Preview: Coal City Coalers vs. Streator Bulldogs

Coal City hasn't had much luck against Streator recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Coal City Coalers will be playing at home against the Streator Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Coal City comes in on four and Streator on six.

Last Friday, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Coal City made off with a 62-61 victory over Peotone.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Streator). They blew past Rochelle 63-38 on Saturday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Hubs are ranked 439th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Streator pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Coal City, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
