Basketball Recap: Morris Hills Comes Up Short

If Morris Hills was riding high fresh off their 66-22 takedown of Mount Olive last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Morris Hills Knights took a 35-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson Township Falcons on Saturday. The Knights have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Kiley Shatzel was nothing short of spectacular for Jefferson Township: she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Those 16 points gave Shatzel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Manco, who posted four points and four steals.

Morris Hills now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Jefferson Township, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morris Hills and Hanover Park will round out the year against one another at on Friday. Jefferson Township and Wayne Valley will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
