Softball Recap: Lakeview Comes Up Short

Lakeview extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 3-6 in the process. They came up short against the Minneota Vikings, falling 8-1. If the Lakers were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Minneota, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Minneota's part, Madison Hennen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. Hennen has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Emily Walker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those triples were her first of the season. Courtney Antony was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Minneota beat Lakeview by a score of 5-3 later that day.
