Preview: Everglades Gators vs. Cypress Bay Lightning
Everglades has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Tuesday. They will take on the Cypress Bay Lightning at 6:00 p.m. Everglades will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 487th, while Cypress Bay is ranked 41st).
Last Monday, Everglades had to suffer through a rough 75-8 loss at the hands of South Broward. Everglades was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-0.
Meanwhile, Cypress Bay put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Boyd Anderson 54-24 at home. With Cypress Bay ahead 35-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Everglades now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Cypress Bay, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything went Everglades' way against Cypress Bay when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as Everglades made off with a 63-43 win. Will Everglades repeat their success, or does Cypress Bay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
