Basketball Recap: Abraham Lincoln Gets the Win

Abraham Lincoln proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 20) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past High School of the Future 68-66. That's more bragging rights for the Railsplitters, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Abraham Lincoln had a senior duo take command as Rafi Sabree posted 19 points and Javere Russell had 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sabree has scored all season. Dajon Smith was another key player, putting up ten points.

Despite the defeat, High School of the Future saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jameer Brown put up 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Gray, who posted ten points.

Abraham Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for High School of the Future, they moved to 8-2 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Abraham Lincoln will venture away from home to square off against Germantown Friends at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for High School of the Future, they will challenge Overbrook at 3:15 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Overbrook will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something High School of the Future surely won't give up without a fight.
