Basketball Recap: Shining Star Sports Academy Takes Down Ranked Example Academy National

Shining Star Sports Academy is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Example Academy National. The Shining Star Sports Academy Panthers walked away with a 69-60 victory over the Example Academy National Eagles. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 77-64 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.

Shining Star Sports Academy had a senior duo take command as Harissoum Coulibaly went 10 of 15 en route to 22 points along with eight boards and six assists and Jadah White almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. The matchup was Coulibaly's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ndeye Diagne, who posted seven points.

Shining Star Sports Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Example Academy National, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Shining Star Sports Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 78-66 victory against Central Pointe Christian Academy National on the 14th. Example Academy National and Bishop Ireton will compete for holiday cheer at 10:55 a.m. on Sunday. One thing working in Bishop Ireton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
