Volleyball Recap: Cosumnes Oaks Comes Up Short

If Cosumnes Oaks was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Elk Grove last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolfpack took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monterey Trail Mustangs on Thursday. The Wolfpack have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-14, 24-26, 25-16.

Victor Pinchon paced Cosumnes Oaks' offense, picking up 19 kills. Pinchon got some help from Jonathan Truong and his 24 assists.

Cosumnes Oaks' defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Monterey Trail, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Cosumnes Oaks wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against St. Ignatius College Preparatory on the 29th. As for Monterey Trail, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Menlo-Atherton on the 29th.
