Basketball Recap: Leake Central Takes a Loss

Leake Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Trojans are ranked 35th).

Leake Central's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Northeast Lauderdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Leake Central will venture away from home to take on Louisville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast Lauderdale has already played their next game (against Kemper County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
