Basketball Game Preview: Stratford Academy Eagles vs. Piedmont Academy Cougars

The Stratford Academy Eagles will face off against the Piedmont Academy Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stratford Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season.

Last Wednesday, everything came up roses for Stratford Academy against First Presbyterian Day as the team secured a 68-40 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-14.

It was another big night for Frankie Raines Jr, who went 10 of 14 on his way to 20 points along with six boards and five assists. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Bobby Wooten was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

Stratford Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Piedmont Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Mount de Sales Academy, falling 66-46.

Stratford Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Piedmont Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.
