Volleyball Game Preview: Escondido Charter Tigers vs. San Marcos Knights

The Escondido Charter Tigers will head out on the road to take on the San Marcos Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Escondido Charter had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt La Jolla Country Day on Thursday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Torreys with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Torreys: they've now won five in a row.

One reason for the win was Escondido Charter's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-13, 25-12.

Meanwhile, San Marcos entered their tilt with Mission Hills on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Grizzlies.

San Marcos never let Mission Hills on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-13, 25-19.

Escondido Charter pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for San Marcos, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
