Softball Game Preview: Union Bears vs. Gate City Blue Devils

The Union Bears are taking a road trip to take on the Gate City Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Tuesday, Union didn't have quite enough to beat Central Wise and fell 5-4. The Bears have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Gate City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lee.

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Gate City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Union beat Gate City 4-0 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
