Volleyball Recap: Sofia Sedano Key Part of Team Effort in Chargers Win

Churchill won the last time they faced Incarnate Word and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Chargers came out on top against the Shamrocks by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Churchill was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 21-25, 28-26, 25-22.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Churchill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sofia Sedano, who had five digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Sedano a new career-high in assists (22). Berkley Prater was another key player, getting 23 assists and seven digs.

They weren't the only good server: Churchill was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive contests.

Churchill's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Incarnate Word, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Churchill will be taking part in a tournament against McAllen Memorial at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Incarnate Word, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Round Rock on the 21st.
