Volleyball Recap: Hensley Hogue Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Roosevelt

Watertown had won two straight home games and Andi Olson did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Arrows walked away with a 3-1 win over the Roosevelt Rough Riders with plenty of help from Olson, who had 22 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 22 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Watertown had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-20.

Watertown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hensley Hogue, who had five digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Hogue a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellie Thury, who had ten digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Watertown was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matches.

Watertown's record is now 12-6. As for Roosevelt, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
