Monticello is a perfect 3-0 against Water Canyon since September of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Buckaroo will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Monticello has given up an average of 42.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monticello is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Milford, who was ranked first at the time (Monticello was ranked fifth). The Buckaroo were beaten by the Tigers 67-0 on Thursday. The Buckaroo have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Water Canyon had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Panguitch by a score of 34-22 on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Monticello, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything went Monticello's way against Water Canyon in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Monticello made off with a 40-18 win. Will the Buckaroo repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
