Springville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Payson to the tune of 54-6 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Springville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tua Naufahu, who rushed for 66 yards and one score, and also picked up 46 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 46 receiving yards gave Naufahu a new career-high. Sioasi Toki was another key player, rushing for 79 yards and a pair of TDs.
Springville didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Payson to a completion percentage of just 50%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Toki and Zachary Henderson, who each logged two passes deflected. Springville wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 71.4%.
Springville's defense didn't let Trevyn Wall., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Naufahu, Tuiono Valeti, and Treyton Harris, who each picked up one sack apiece. Valeti was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Maple Mountain took on Timpview on Friday. The Golden Eagles lost 44-20 to the Thunderbirds. The defeat continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their meetings with the Thunderbirds: they've now lost three in a row.
Springville will have to contain Brooks Ross as he made an impact in Maple Mountain's last game. He picked up 139 receiving yards and one score. Kyren Jones got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Maple Mountain didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Jones led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Kael Anderson is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season. Jones got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Springville's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Maple Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Springville has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 252.5 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Maple Mountain, though, as they've been averaging only 90.7 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
