Softball Game Preview: Bonneville Bees vs. Idaho Falls Tigers

The Bonneville Bees will head out on the road to take on the Idaho Falls Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bonneville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Bonneville couldn't beat Malad on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Bees fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 5-4.

Gracie Longhurst put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Idaho Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 18-1 to Pocatello.

Idaho Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Bonneville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.

Bonneville was able to grind out a solid win over Idaho Falls in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bees since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
