Walnut Ridge snaps six-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: Walnut Ridge Scots vs. Africentric Early College Nubians

It was a good run, but the Walnut Ridge Scots unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They took a serious blow against Africentric Early College, falling 86-20. Having soared to a lofty 57 points in the game before, Walnut Ridge couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite the loss, Walnut Ridge still got an impressive performance from Nyah Hubbard, who scored ten points.

Africentric Early College's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natiah Nelson, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nelson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Grant, who scored 22 points.

Walnut Ridge's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5. As for Africentric Early College, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walnut Ridge on the road again on Tuesday and play against Eastmoor Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Africentric Early College, they will square off against South at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 480th, while Africentric Early College is ranked 81st).
