Football Recap: River Islands Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

River Islands kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 33-6 defeat at the hands of the Waterford Wildcats.

When it comes to explaining why River Islands lost, don't look at Daryl Carpenter. Despite the final result, he threw for 212 yards on 12 of 25 attempts, and also punched in one TD on the ground.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Islands will head out to square off against Delhi at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Waterford, they will venture away from home to challenge Beyer at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
