            The Cardinal Mooney Cougars will challenge the Monsignor Pace Spartans at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. One thing working in Cardinal Mooney's favor is that they have posted at least 31  points  in their last five games.
Cardinal Mooney's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave  on Friday, when they got past Lakewood's usually-dominant defense. The Cougars put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp  35-12 victory. Considering the Cougars have won six contests by more than 20  points this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Connail Jackson continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 209 yards and four  touchdowns on only 13 carries. He really tore up the turf  during one magnificent 81-yard run. Another player making a difference was  Devin Mignery, who rushed for 100 yards on only eight carries.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cardinal Mooney was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 349  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

 Another reason for the win was Cardinal Mooney's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 23 sacks.  Tra'Vion Lester led the group effort, picking up six of those  sacks all by himself. Thanks to that big game,  he is now up to 9  sacks on the season. Another thorn in Lakewood's side was  Jayden Burnett, who made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended three passes.
 Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Monsignor Pace, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Friday. They snuck past Centennial with  a  28-24 win on Friday. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
 Monsignor Pace's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Cardinal Mooney, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
