Cienega and Buena are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Cienega Bobcats will square off against the Buena Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cienega knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 24 matches -- so hopefully Buena likes a good challenge.

Cienega is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Pueblo: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Cienega blew Pueblo out of the water with a 76-39 final score. The Bobcats pushed the score to 67-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors had no chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cienega to victory, but perhaps none more so than Thomas Noyes, who went 9 for 11 on his way to 21 points and five boards. What's more, Noyes also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Jaden Rodgers was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 12 points and nine steals.

Cienega smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Buena entered their tilt with Desert View on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Jaguars 91-45. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Buena's record is now 19-5. As for Cienega, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Cienega was able to grind out a solid victory over Buena when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 66-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cienega since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
